Novena in honour of the Holy Face 

Pre-Lenten Novena in honour of the Holy Face commences on Sunday 7th February, before 11am Mass, continuing each day before 10am Mass until Monday 15th February (except on Sunday when it is before the 11am Mass). Tuesday 16th February (Shrove Tuesday) is the Feast Day of the Holy Face. Please join us on the Naas webcam or by radio at 107.3FM.

“On the first Friday of Lent 1936, Mother Maria Pierina de Michelli (beatified 30th May 2010) reported a vision of Jesus. She reported Jesus’ desire of a special feast day on the Tuesday preceding Ash Wednesday each year (Shrove Tuesday), to be preceded by a 9 day novena of prayer. In 1958, Pope Pius XII declared the feast of the Holy Face of Jesus for all Roman Catholics to be the day before Ash Wednesday (Shrove Tuesay)”
